The Senior IT Test Analyst performs test planning, script development, execution and defect management for all test cycles and various types of tests. With in this role the Senior IT Test Analysts will support the area of Web and Automation.

Day-to-Day Role:
  • Perform quality audits against implemented testing procedures
  • Be the subject matter expert for assigned functional area(s)
  • Attend project intake meetings to understand project scope in order to assist in determining QA/test team involvement
  • Assist in validating the test plans, testing time lines and landscape
  • Identify, document, and communicate defects, issues and risks affecting test project scope, schedule, cost and quality
  • Perform test tool administration support including facilitating or assisting with upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and user administration
  • Create and distribute metric reports to stakeholders
  • Mentor and train other team members
  • Web and Automation
    • Develop and execute manual and automated test scripts for functional, role-based security, integration, regression and performance test scenarios
    • Perform quality reviews on requirement documents/user stories and functional specs
    • Analyze production data to understand the Day-in-the-Life (DIL) scenarios to use as inputs into testing
    • Execute data mining activities
    • Review test scripts and plans for accuracy, standards and best practices
    • Review test script library for assigned functional area(s) to ensure the test scripts are up-to-date (process and validations)
    • Ensure knowledge transfer occurs when new functionality is implementated into production
    • Review service desk tickets for improvements within the test script library and regression set for assigned process area(s)
    • Validate accurate business process scenarios, field validations and troubleshoot issues identified during testing
    • Create test project deliverables such as test plans, test scripts, defects, test status reports and test cycle summary documents
    • Define, implement and monitor an automated testing strategy (Web and Automation only)
    • Design, develop and execute performance/stress testing (Automation only)
Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in computer science or related field of study
  • Four (4) years of software quality assurance/testing experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Web and Automation candidates require:
    • Four (4) years of experience with test tools such as HP-ALM or Team Foundation Server (TFS)
    • Four (4) years of experience with automated testing, strategies, tools and best practices
  • Ability to assess a project scope, timeline, issues and risks to make quality/testing activity recommendations
  • Ability to establish project plans, regularly monitor and track progress on work projects, and communicate with project partners
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
  • Ability to streamline processes, integrate, and associate pieces of information gathered from multiple sources and apply to projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams
  • Ability to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to think strategically and see how parts interact with the big picture
  • Willingness to move forward with incomplete information
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
  • Ability to present to audiences with various technical backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to travel up to 5% domestically and/or internationally
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and/or passpost
  • Requires a valid driver's license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
  • Additional work hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call as required
