Description About Connected Ecosystem Integration (CEI)
CEI s Advanced Product Development team is a group of skilled, technical, software engineers that are capable of building complex systems in an extremely rapid fashion. We are frequently tasked with bringing to life new concepts, exploring technical challenges and demonstrating our work around General Motors. We are passionate about new technology and have the desire to learn and explore new ideas.
We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to come onboard and augment our team s capabilities.
About the role
As a part of our team the Infrastructure Engineer will be expected to be self-sufficient and able to independently support the team. They should also have strong communication skills and be able to work with the rest of the team in order to collaborate and integrate their work.
They should be passionate and familiar with new technologies and would be expected to not only keep up with the latest technologies but also to be able to bring and share those learning's with the broader team and think about how they might be applied and integrated into GM.
Our team focuses on rapid development and usually has multiple unrelated projects in process at the same time. You should be seeking this type of fast paced environment and get personal satisfaction Qualifications Mandatory Skills:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Expertise using Pivotal Cloud Foundry systems
  • Expertise using recent versions of various Databases such as Oracle 12c, MySQL and MongoDB
  • Expertise using Amazon Web Services such as EC2, ELB, VPC, S3, CloudFront, IAM, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch, SNS and so on to monitor cloud resources and applications running on AWS
  • Experience writing complex queries
  • Experience writing applications and scripts that interface with databases
  • Expertise in installing and configure Web Servers (like Apache, Tomcat)
  • Expertise in creating application architecture and network diagram
  • Real world experience using GIT, Jenkins, Sonar, Artifactory and so on
  • Expertise in infrastructure management tools like Salt, Puppet and Chef
  • Expertise in OS level virtualization/containerization using Docker
  • Expertise in implementing Kubernetes for automating deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications
  • Experience in Big Data tool setup and administration such as Kafka and Cassandra, Spark and Storm
  • Expertise in managing tens of Linux/Windows Servers including network setup mainly for automotive industry
  • Experience in reviewing ongoing business goals, projects for security awareness, incorporation of security standards and corporate policy
  • Ability to prepare technical architectural and implementation design documents and work with the Project Manager to develop the Implementation plan
Bonus Skill Sets
  • Familiarity with internal GM systems and applications
