Responsibilities

Overview

Within the growing Universal Brand Development group, the Sr. Manager Games/Live Events Accounting will be a member of the Controllership team ensuring proper accounting through the design, implementation and monitoring of effective policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with ASC 606 and SOX section 404 standards.

Job Duties:

. Manage the accounting for all aspects of games and live events including co-investment structures

. Compile and maintain audit quality supporting documentation for NVL (name voice likeness) for talent and brands

. Liaison with Legal, Participations, and Category teams to validate pass through rights.

. Calculate NVL on a participant by IP basis

. Generate reports for NVL participation pay-outs

. Serve as point of contact for participant audits

. Establish best practices for earned royalty accrual estimation, validation and recognition in accordance with US GAAP

. Maintain the RSG and TBT (actual and forecasting contract management systems respectively) Enhancement Lists for Games and Live Events from a Controllership perspective and monitor progress with IT through testing, validation and exception reporting

. Partner with FP&A to ensure transparency and accuracy in the quarterly earned revenue and cost accrual process, in addition to supporting quarterly Pacing, Long Range Planning, Forecasting, Budgeting and Variance Analysis as it pertains to revenue estimation and reporting

. Collaborate with the Games and Live Event teams to improve the licensee forecasting and revenue accrual processes

. Remain current on new and emerging US GAAP guidance, trends and techniques as well as new contractual and operational arrangements to ensure that UBD's revenue recognition policies remain current and accurate.

. Prepare technical accounting deal memos for game and live events arrangements

. Own the quarter-end reporting and reconciliation process for earned royalty revenue with respect to Games and Live Events and related accounts

. Establish and track operational and performance based KPIs

. Serve as point for external and internal audit and review of Games and Live Events related account

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

. Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

. CPA and/or MBA preferred

. Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and/or accounting

Additional Job Requirements:

. Willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice

. Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
